What are CBD content writers?

CBD content writers are specialized professionals who create written materials focused on cannabidiol (CBD) products, industry news, scientific research, legal updates, and wellness trends. They craft blog posts, articles, product descriptions, and marketing copy to educate consumers, promote products, and comply with legal regulations related to CBD. Their work requires a strong understanding of the CBD industry, SEO best practices, and the ability to write clearly about complex topics. Many CBD content writers also stay updated on evolving laws and scientific findings to ensure content remains accurate and trustworthy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CBD Content Writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CBD Content Writer, you need strong writing skills, a solid understanding of the CBD industry, and familiarity with SEO best practices, typically supported by a relevant degree or writing experience. Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), keyword research tools, and analytics platforms is commonly required. Exceptional research ability, adaptability, and attention to detail are key soft skills that help writers stand out in this field. These skills ensure the creation of accurate, compliant, and engaging content that drives traffic and builds credibility in a highly regulated and competitive industry.

What type of writing is most in demand?

For CBD content writing, the most in-demand types include product descriptions, blog articles, educational content, and social media posts. Writers with expertise in SEO, clear communication, and knowledge of CBD products are highly sought after in this niche market.

What are some common challenges CBD content writers face when creating educational materials, and how can they overcome them?

CBD content writers often encounter challenges related to legal compliance and rapidly changing regulations, as well as the need to communicate complex scientific information in an accessible way. Collaborating closely with legal and subject matter experts within the company can help ensure content remains both accurate and compliant. Additionally, using clear, reader-friendly language and citing credible sources helps build trust with the audience.

The team brings rich industry knowledge to Forbes Advisor's global coverage of consumer credit, debt, health, home improvement, banking, investing, credit cards, small business, education, insurance, loans, real estate and travel.
Forbes Advisor is looking for a health staff writer with a background in digital content creation, writing, reporting and SEO best practices. This is a four-month contract position with the potential to convert to permanent based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate should have a passion for writing high-quality, consumer-focused health content in a fast-paced news cycle.
You should have an interest in a broad range of health and wellness topics and know how to translate complex medical, scientific and consumer health information into clear, actionable articles for everyday readers. We're looking for someone who values service journalism and is passionate about helping readers make informed decisions about their health and well-being. This role offers the opportunity to work with the agility of a startup with the benefits of a seasoned and successful company.
Responsibilities:
  • Write 2-3 helpful, accurate and engaging news and trend stories daily focused on health and wellness verticals.
  • Work independently to pitch timely, high-impact stories each day aligned with search trends and vertical priorities.
  • Collaborate with fellow writers and editorial leadership to maintain quality standards, reporting to a Managing Editor.
  • Consistently publish high-performing content that drives traffic and engagement; proactively update stories with new and timely information as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with compliance and editors to ensure all stories meet brand standards within the assigned vertical.
  • Ensure all content adheres to AP Style and Forbes Health's in-house editorial style guide. Leverage performance data and SEO best practices and insights in story pitches, structuring and reporting.
  • Coordinate with the social team to maximize story reach across Forbes Health's social media channels including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X and more.

Requirements:
  • Deep familiarity with the GLP-1 and CBD, including major industry players, consumer trends, research developments and regulatory conversations.
  • An established network of industry, medical and expert sources to support timely and authoritative reporting.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating clear and accurate reporting within the health and wellness industries.
  • A proven ability to translate complex health and medical topics into concise, accessible and actionable content for a broad audience.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple daily deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Comfortable pivoting coverage in response to news trends, traffic performance or editorial direction.
  • Creative judgment that aligns with Forbes Health's editorial tone, voice and audience-first approach.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable in a start-up environment.
