POSITION SUMMARY

The Budtender is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable tribal and Washington State cannabis regulations, and providing accurate product education. This role serves as the frontline representative of the store and plays a critical role in sales, compliance, and customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Greet and assist all customers in a friendly, professional manner.

· Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate cannabis products.

· Educate customers on product types, effects, and safe consumption methods.

· Promote sales through product knowledge and upselling techniques.

· Maintain strong knowledge of cannabis products including flower, edibles, concentrates, and topicals.

· Explain THC/CBD content, terpene profiles, and expected effects.

· Provide guidance on dosing, especially for new consumers.

· Stay informed on new products, trends, and industry developments.

· Verify valid government-issued ID for all customers (21+), enforce all purchase limits and sales regulations.

· Refuse sales to intoxicated individuals or those without valid ID, follow all Washington State LCB regulations and applicable tribal cannabis laws/compact requirements.

· Maintain strict adherence to store policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale system, handle cash and cashless payments responsibly.

· Maintain an accurate cash drawer and assist with reconciliation.

· Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.

· Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory.

· Maintain proper product labeling and storage compliance.

· Conduct inventory counts and report discrepancies.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor.

· Maintains confidentiality at all times.

· Maintains awareness and sensitivity to Native American Culture.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

? This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPUTER SKILLS

? POS scanning systems preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience preferred: Prior retail or cannabis industry experience, along with knowledge of Washington State cannabis regulations. Experience working in regulated environments is also beneficial.

A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree requirement.
