Job description

Overview
Position Purpose: The Architectural Drafter must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.
Complete all construction documents, roof plans, and elevations in Revit for all brands. Learn to shift seamlessly between all brands to complete all requested work. Have the ability to create elevations in Revit as needed for new product lines
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain plan files for all brands.
  • Create address specific plans for Southgate homes to match the contract.
  • Keep up with building standards and city/community requirements to make sure our homes are efficient to build.
  • Complete construction drawings for new plans on all brands
  • Update plans per corrections from field walks.
  • Track all changes made to plans in order to have a change history.
  • Create plat and subdivision lots from dwg files before plan development to make sure all new plans will meet lot requirements.
  • Complete any additional drafting duties as needed.

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Requirements: N/A
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
Working Relationships Inside the Company: Product Development, Estimators, Comm. Sales Managers, Purchasing Dept., Construction Managers, Director of Architecture, and President.
Working Relationships Outside the Company: Designers, Structural Engineers, Vendors/Trades
Location: Plano Corporate Office
Qualifications
Education:
  • College degree helpful but not necessary, any Project Management certification helpful, basic computer skills required.

Experience:
  • 5 years of residential architecture experience.
  • 3+ years of Revit experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Revit modeling required.
  • Basic Autocad experience a plus.

Competencies:
  • Must possess ability to produce full construction documents and create new floor plans/elevations with direction from the Director of Architecture.
  • Knowledge of homebuilding industry required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to set priorities and react to time-critical work.
