To thrive as a CAWI Inspector, you need a solid understanding of welding inspection standards, metallurgy, and quality assurance, typically supported by relevant certifications such as CAWI (Certified Associate Welding Inspector) from recognized bodies like the American Welding Society (AWS). Familiarity with inspection tools, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and industry-specific documentation systems is essential. These skills and qualities ensure that welding work meets safety and quality standards, preventing costly defects and ensuring compliance with regulations.

What is a CAWI Inspector?

A CAWI Inspector is a professional certified to perform inspections on welding processes according to the standards set by the Certification Scheme for Weld Inspection (CAWI). They are responsible for ensuring that welded joints comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
