Job description

Overview

Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level I Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. Job Details

The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering direct care to patients and utilizing physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates patient and creates treatment plan                                                                                             
  • Employee is able to provide verbal and written educational material to patients when appropriate
  • Recognizes the need for involvement of other disciplines                                                         
  • Creates a recommended discharge plan                                                                                                    
  • Performs and records daily clinical notes                                                                                     
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives                                                                                    Completes department mandatory in-service/training/competency within specified time frame
  • Participates in education of staff and students within the medical center  

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy or Master's degree or higher in Physical Therapy. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
  • Licensed and registered PT in the State of New York. 
  • BLS required.
