Job description
- Guide students and families through financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, application processes, and funding options.
- Support the administration of federal, state, institutional, and scholarship aid programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
- Oversee financial aid processing activities, including awarding, verification, appeals review, satisfactory academic progress (SAP), and Return to Title IV calculations.
- Assist with reconciliation of federal and state funds, scholarship administration, and maintenance of financial aid data within the University information system.
- Partner with the Director of Financial Aid on compliance initiatives, policy implementation, audits, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Represent the Financial Aid Office through workshops, FAFSA events, recruitment activities, committee participation, and community outreach efforts.
- Maintain current knowledge of financial aid regulations and best practices through ongoing professional development and training.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of three years of financial aid experience in a higher education setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively assist students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computer systems, software applications, and student information systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to remain composed and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
