Job description

Serving over 10,000 individuals annually, our mission is supported by dedicated volunteers who help seniors find connections, guide families towards a brighter future, and assist young adults in transitioning to the workforce. Rooted in the belief that every person reflects the image of God, we journey together as neighbors, empowering individuals to shape their own futures with our unwavering support.
Assist in the development and management of strategies to provide volunteer opportunities in the community. Recruit, retain and lead the growth of volunteerism throughout all programs within Catholic Social Services by conducting orientations, schedules, and coordinate volunteers for events.
Engagement activities:
  • Volunteer recruitment for agency events using volunteer software.
    • Assist volunteers in the utilization of the software
    • Identify and create volunteer opportunities with agency programs
    • Train staff and volunteers to assist at community events.
  • Assists with logistics and coordination of group-based client activities, special projects, and other tasks, as necessary.
  • Assists in coordinating engagement activities and events.
  • Represents the agency at events, meetings, and participates in community outreach events which may include presentations, and participation in resource fairs.
    • Volunteer events will include evening and weekend hours.
  • Follow up and coordinate with community partners, Catholic parishes as well as with other faith-based organizations and programs to maintain and develop group programming and referrals.
  • Collaborate with Programs to assist with volunteer recruitment.
  • Responsible for warehouse management including receiving, organizing, and ordering event items for packing events and large group events.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree, preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
  • Three (3) years, experience in Volunteer coordination, desired.
  • Experience with event management software (i.e., SignUp Genius, Everbrite, etc.).
  • Experience with design creation applications a plus (i.e., Canvas)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and state minimum car insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn company database/software (Galaxy Digital).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
  • Work independently to manage a substantial workload with deadline pressures.
Work Environment:
  • Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
  • In the community as needed for essential responsibilities.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • A flexible work schedule of volunteer events will be scheduled for evenings and weekends.
  • Daily delivery of volunteer material, utilizing the agency cargo van.
