Description

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is seeking a faithful, talented, and enthusiastic Music Director to lead our parish and school music ministry. This individual will play an important role in fostering reverent, prayerful, and engaging liturgical music that helps draw our parish community closer to Christ.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and leading music for weekend Masses and Holy Days
  • Providing music for select school Masses and special liturgies throughout the school year
  • Directing and developing both children's and adult choirs
  • Organizing and leading a Wednesday afternoon Music Club for students during the school year (2:00PM)
  • Collaborating with clergy, school leadership, and parish staff to support the liturgical life of the parish
  • Assisting with music selection that reflects the beauty and traditions of the Catholic Church
  • Maintaining and utilizing the parish organ and other music resources
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned by the Pastor.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic preferred with a strong understanding of Catholic liturgy and sacred music
  • Ability to play the organ proficiently
  • Experience directing choirs and working with children and volunteers
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to create a welcoming and prayerful environment through music ministry

Additional Opportunities:

The Music Director may also be available to provide music for weddings and funerals for a reasonable stipend/fee coordinated directly with families.
