Job description

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
The Children's Catholic Faith Formation Coordinator is responsible for successfully developing, coordinating, and administering children's catechetical programs, providing for the instructional and religious formational needs of children enrolled in the parish and school, all under the direction of the Pastor. This includes sacramental preparation programs for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and manage kindergarten through high school faith formation programs.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, training, scheduling, support and evaluation of catechists/volunteers for the children's faith formation program and sacramental preparation.
  • Develop and manage the Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation sacramental programs in collaboration with the DFF/Pastor.
  • Gather and maintain records of registration and participation in faith formation classes and program activities, including parental permission forms and sacramental requirements.

Skills
  • Bilingual preferred. Fluency in English in both speaking and writing.
  • 1 to 2 years post-secondary education
  • Experience with coordinating a group of volunteers
  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church teachings
  • Eligible for compliance with Diocesan Safe Environment requirements
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication tools
  • Teaching background preferred
