Job description

Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Cath Lab Technologist assists in procedures, prepares patients for procedures (IV placement, blood collection, and site preparation), reviews patient chart to ensure consents and appropriate labs are in place, and monitors patients post-procedure (site management, vital sign and telemetry monitoring). The Cath Lab Technologist will ensure high quality, effective patient care, while working collaboratively to integrate the goals of the HVC with Huntsville Memorial Hospital. The Cath Lab Technologist functions as a member of the heart and vascular team; possesses skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the patient population.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of a school of vocational nursing or a medical radiologic technology program.
Experience: None required. One year of clinical experience in Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular Interventions, Radiology, or related specialty preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Radiology Technologist in the State of Texas. Will consider an LVN with RCIS. Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
