$16 - $22/hour, based on experience
Job Summary:
We are one of Chicago's largest full-service catering companies, accommodating weddings, galas, corporate events, and more. For nearly four decades, we have catered some of the largest events in Chicagoland and even around the country. Under the direction of the Event Captain, Waitstaff will be responsible for taking care of all event guests' needs and providing outstanding guest service throughout the Catering Event.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for providing exceptional service at events and gatherings. As a vital member of our team, you will ensure seamless execution of catering services, from setup to cleanup, while ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the setup of catering events, including arranging tables and decorations as per the event plan.
  • Greet guests upon arrival, distribute beverages, and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Take orders and serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure guests' special dietary needs or requests are met (e.g., allergies, vegetarian options).
  • Monitor and replenish beverages and buffet items as needed.
  • Clear tables and clean up after events, including breakdown of service areas.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and event planners to ensure all aspects of service run smoothly.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service throughout the event, anticipating guests' needs.
  • Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in service and dining areas.
  • Assist in packing up leftover food and equipment at the end of events.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress in catering or hospitality settings.
  • Knowledge of catering practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift and carry trays and equipment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly beneficial, as it will enable effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in food handling or safety training is a plus.
  • Experience in bartending or serving alcoholic beverages is advantageous.
