Job Summary and Qualifications

The Food and Nutrition Services Cook assists in the preparation of cooked foods for our patients, visitors and colleagues. The Line Cook provides food that is safe, unadulterated, attractive, and prepared within the guidelines of the Texas Department of Health, Medicare and JCAHO. The hospital dining schedule features hours and shifts that create a great work - life balance. Your food service experience and commitment to service, safety and professionalism will contribute to a positive experience for our patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you will do in this role:

  • Prepares both cold and hot menu items according to standard recipes for patients, employees, cafeteria customers, physicians, community agencies and catering events.
  • Maintains equipment in kitchen to standard.
  • Assist in storage of deliveries.
  • Maintains kitchen area to state required sanitary standards.
  • Completes all task on duty while adhering to safety standards and policies of the hospital.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
