What are casual associates?

Casual associates are employees who work on a flexible or as-needed basis, rather than on a fixed full-time or part-time schedule. They are often hired to cover busy periods, seasonal increases in workload, or to fill temporary gaps in staffing. Casual associates may not have guaranteed hours and typically receive pay only for the hours they work. Benefits such as health insurance or paid leave may be limited or unavailable, depending on company policy and local labor laws.

What jobs are considered casual work?

Casual work refers to jobs with flexible schedules, often on an as-needed basis, and typically do not require long-term commitments. Part-time positions usually do not include full benefits but can offer flexible schedules.

What does a typical shift look like for a Casual Associate, and how flexible are the working hours?

As a Casual Associate, your shifts can vary widely depending on the employer's needs, with work often scheduled during peak business hours, weekends, or holidays. Flexibility is a key benefit of this role, as you may have the opportunity to select shifts that fit your availability. However, last-minute schedule changes or requests to cover shifts are common, so adaptability is important. You’ll typically work as part of a team, assisting with customer service, restocking, and maintaining store appearance, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.
