Orthopedic APP Job Description -Castle Rock
AdventHealth Castle Rock is seeking a NP or PA to join our hospital-based orthopedic team. This individual will be a Float provider to provide OR support for multiple surgical teams to help cover increased OR and clinical volumes.
$152,137 - 165,680 Annual Compensation
Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Transmits/prescribes prescription orders pursuant to written protocols as authorized.
  • Assist Orthopedic Surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Develop and implement patient management plans
  • Provide clinical visits to include new patient visits, pre-operative and post-operative visits and other follow-ups
  • Administer Injections, including corticosteroids, and other medications in office
  • Perform minor surgical procedures such as wound closure and casting
  • Prescribe medications and therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physician
  • Performs initial and on-going assessments and discharge planning
  • Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures
  • Document Patient Progress and treatment plans in Electronic Health records
  • Documents patient care findings within established standards utilizing CPOE
  • Coordinates care by collaborating with surgeons and others to obtain appropriate services
  • Provides an accurate, thorough and timely report of patient's condition to surgeons and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Initiates multidisciplinary teaching plans
  • Recognizes life-threatening situations and intervenes correctly with minimal supervision. May be a member of the Rapid Response team.
  • Reassesses patients regularly and revises interventions/plan of care as needed
  • Counsels individuals, families and groups about health and illness and promote health maintenance.
  • Makes positive contributions to and supports the development and execution of policies/procedures/ standards/protocols.
  • May serve on various hospital committees and teams and serves as an internal resource for CMS,TJC and appropriate quality process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures that patient's medical record has appropriate documentation to meet all quality and patient experience indicators.
  • Works with interdisciplinary teams to reduce unnecessary readmissions to the hospital.
  • Actively participates in department Meetings for Orthopedics, quality improvement meetings, and staff education as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Nurse Practitioner training from an accredited school of nursing.
  • One-year experience as an Acute Care Practitioner.
  • One-year Orthopedic experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REG I STRATI ON REQUIRED:
  • Current licensure to practice professional Nursing in state of Colorado or in a qualifying compact State.
  • Registered as Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
