Job Description:

Dual rates have two distinct sets of responsibility that fluctuate between supervisory and line level depending upon business needs. Dual rates must have leadership skill, a working knowledge of line level functions and adaptability. Below is the job summary for Casino Operations Supervisor and a condensed job summary for the line level Dealer positions.

SUPERVISOR JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for monitoring and supervising the daily Poker floor operations on a specific shift, ensuring that courteous and prompt service is provided by all employees.

JOB FUNCTIONS AS SUPERVISOR:

  • Directly responsible for training Poker dealers, providing each with the knowledge of the various games and equipment. Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers by handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Exercises appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention.
  • Familiar with the federal currency transaction reporting guidelines and implements the same.
  • Oversees all significant monetary exchanges to ensure prompt and accurate execution of every transaction.
  • Possess money-handling skills in providing change to guests and maintaining a cashier bank to issue and receive dealer chip banks.
  • Completes daily personnel assignments and reassigns personnel on floor based on business volume.
  • Responsible for key control and documentation.
  • Builds a rapport and coordinates daily functions with support services departments, especially Marketing.
  • Coordinates with Security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage gaming equipment and to identify floor irregularities to the Lead Shift Supervisor or Casino Manager.
  • Ensures timely and accurate evaluations are given to direct reports with appropriate development plans, providing each with clear directives needed to meet departmental standards and achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Acts as role model; always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

JOB FUNCTIONS AS DEALER:

  • Upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow employees. Proactive in anticipating customer needs in assigned area.
  • Motivation in becoming familiar with all guests, remembering names and little facts.
  • Possess money handling for functions in assigned area. Knowledge of documentation required in transactions.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the various games and equipment.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers by handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Exercises appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention
  • Ability to handle secured keys within department guidelines.
  • Builds a rapport and coordinates daily functions with support services departments, especially Marketing.
  • Coordinates with Casino Operations Supervisors and Security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage gaming equipment and to identify floor irregularities to a Casino Operations Supervisor, Lead Shift Supervisor or Casino Manager.
  • Acts as role model; always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

Additional Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
Must possess strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Successful completion of the Supervisor Leadership Assessment Program (SuperLAP) is required.
Must have knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to Casino Operations.
Must project professionalism and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous knowledge of casino rules, regulations and procedures pertinent to Casino Operations required.
Must have at least 350 hours previous experience in either Slots, Poker, Keno or Bingo or related experience.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team across departments and levels of management.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items. Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.
Must have sense of urgency and keep up with fast-paced business practices.
Must be able to work calmly and professionally in stressful situations.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high-noise levels, bright lights and dust.
 Excellent vision (including peripheral) is needed for game security.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
