Position Summary:


The Accounting Manager, Cash Operations is responsible for supporting and overseeing general accounting activities related to cash operations, including reconciliation, reporting, system maintenance, and process design. This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of cash accounting, payment application, and account reconciliations while maintaining compliance with SOX requirements. The position partners closely with servicing, treasury, operations, and finance teams to drive efficient processes, strengthen controls, and support accurate financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general accounting activities and ensure financial statement accuracy by maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and system integrity.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of SOX controls related to cash management to mitigate financial risk.
  • Manage daily cash reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries related to cash, customer payments, refunds, and adjustments.
  • Monitor unapplied cash, payment exceptions, and returns, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of risks.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen cross-functional workflows.
  • Partner with Treasury, Operations, Customer Service, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial processing and reporting.
  • Lead, develop, and support accounting staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational needs.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in general accounting, including public accounting, corporate accounting (with exposure to payment processing), or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams to achieve common goals, including supervising direct reports.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills Required:

  • To successfully perform in this role, the individual must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access (or comparable database querying tools).
  • Overtime required required on an as needed basis.
  • Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX.

Qualifications Preferred:

  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred
  • Prior experience within the auto finance industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of loan accounting, payment processing, and cash operations

Work Schedule
