Job description

Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining all necessary bookkeeping and other related clerical functions for the food service dept. Bookkeeping duties include: daily count of all cash from cafeteria and other points of service sales, daily bank deposits of cash from cafeteria and other points of service sales, and maintain sufficient cash on hand for opening cash registers
Responsibilities:

  • Count cash drawers from points of service registers after each meal and prepare cash ledger. Total deposits
  • Prepare and submit to accounting daily and monthly cash records. Complete daily ancillary deposit through treasury dept.
  • Complete necessary bank forms for change and assure that department has specified amount of money on hand for register change purposes. Assure that all petty cash reimbursements are made.
  • Calculate daily charges by volunteer for PUH, Falk Clinic, Eye & Ear and University of Pittsburgh athletes
  • Complete daily deposit slips. Assure that deposit slip and cash are picked up daily.

HS Diploma/GED OR 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
