Criminal Defense Paralegal

Maronick Law LLC – Maryland (Baltimore-based; multi-county practice)

Position Overview
Maronick Law LLC, a fast-paced and growing Maryland litigation firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling misdemeanor and felony criminal matters across multiple Maryland jurisdictions. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrates strong client-service skills, and has experience supporting litigation teams from case intake through disposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, format, and file criminal pleadings, motions, and correspondence in Maryland state courts
  • Maintain case files, discovery materials, and document management systems
  • Coordinate court filings, service, and scheduling across multiple counties
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, subpoenas, and witness coordination
  • Manage deadlines, hearing calendars, and case tracking systems
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist with discovery review and organization
  • Support intake processes and preparation of client case summaries

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of litigation or criminal defense paralegal experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Maryland court filing procedures strongly preferred
