Trusts & Estates Attorney

Manhattan, NY • On-site

Job description

A well-established solo practitioner in Manhattan is looking to add an experienced trusts and estates attorney to grow his boutique practice. The practice focuses on sophisticated estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, and offers a close-knit, in-person office environment where attorneys work directly with an experienced practice owner and dedicated paralegal support.

This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants hands-on client work, direct mentorship, and a real role in building out a growing practice — rather than being one of many associates in a large institutional setting.

About the Opportunity

The attorney is looking for someone with 2 to 6 years of estate planning experience to help manage a growing caseload of high-net-worth clients. This is a fully in-person role based out of the Manhattan office, working closely with the practice owner day to day, with paralegal support in place to help manage document preparation and case administration.

Responsibilities

  • Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments
  • Advise high-net-worth clients on estate, gift, and tax planning strategies
  • Assist with trust and estate administration matters as needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, professional communication
  • Work directly with the practice owner and paralegal support to manage caseloads efficiently
  • Help support the continued growth of the practice through excellent client service

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar
  • 2 to 6 years of experience in estate planning or related trusts and estates work
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred but not required
  • Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-service orientation
  • Comfortable working full-time, in person, in a boutique office environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Direct mentorship and close collaboration with an experienced practice owner
  • Paralegal support to help manage day-to-day case administration
  • Meaningful opportunity to grow alongside an established, expanding boutique practice
