About the Role:

As a Carrier Relations Representative for PGT Trucking Inc., you will build relationships with carriers to move loads on time for our customers at the right price. Taking initiative to ensure service excellence by ensuring on time picks ups and deliveries, and resolving issues as they arise is expected. This position is based in our Corporate Headquarters building located in Hopewell Township, PA (Aliquippa) conveniently located near the Pittsburgh Airport/Moon Township/Robinson/Beaver Valley areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships with carrier's key contacts to move freight in the most profitable manner.
  • Maintain and build effective relationships with customers and carriers.
  • Manage both inbound and outbound call volume to generate carrier leads and referrals for freight coverage.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers to meet margin requirements and ensure maximum profitability, while maintaining customer service excellence.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and excellent service levels by maintaining on time tracking and shipment details accurately and timely in the system, with safe, reliable carriers.
  • Identify issues and professionally problem solve to implement the best solution.
  • Thoroughly communicate directly with internal sales and operations teams when necessary.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in truck dispatch or freight brokerage operations is preferred.
  • Must have a big picture mentality, have high energy, be self-motivated and hardworking with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to motivate and persuade others, while building valued relationships.
  • Must be independent and driven to produce results and achieve goals, while also working collaboratively with a team of people to achieve overarching company goals.
  • Must be able to keep up and rise to the occasion in a fast-paced environment, while multi-tasking, prioritizing needs and issues that arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
