Carpenter Co has an opening for 1st shift Plant Utility at our Riverside, CA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintain all areas of the plant. Provides a clean working environment for all Carpenter Co. personnel. This position communicates continually with Supervisor, Plant Management and the Human Resources Manager. Major challenges involves performing cleaning duties within production schedules. Uses moderate physical effort to perform various cleaning procedures to include cleaning of all restrooms daily, cleaning floors, dusting offices, and emptying waste receptacles.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The plant utility works in a normal production environment with exposure to temperature variations and some unpleasant cleaning situations.
Your additional responsibilities as a Plant Utility will include:
  1. Cleaning plant break rooms, plant offices, training rooms and hallways, plant restrooms, all exterior windows, the front entrance inside and outside
  2. Ordering and restock all necessary cleaning supplies
  3. Works with hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  4. Picking up trash from company property
  5. Maintain a neat and orderly supply room
  6. Understanding of Carpenter Co. Safe Stacking Policy and recognition of Prohibited and Restricted area requirements
  7. Some non-essential functions include attending all department and safety meetings, advise if vending machines need servicing, clean timeclocks, clean water fountains, report any graffiti in company facilities, other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, squat, lift and push without issues.
  • Must be able to follow basic safety rules and follow Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Have a good understanding of English, both verbal and written
  • Should have a history of a safe work performance
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills

Pay depends on qualifications and experience. The Plant Utility hourly rate is $21.1972 per hour.
