Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Carpenter to join our ATCO Facilities Solutions team in Edmonton, Alberta, contingent on ATCO winning a proposed project. Opportunities may also be available in Calgary, Alberta. The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel work and related materials. 

Responsibilities:

  • Structural inspections of the building envelope
  • Door systems and rekeying - installs locks, doorknobs, and other building hardware
  • General repair work including but not limited to, maintaining doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; builds and installs door and window framing
  • Construction and renovation work, roofing, crawl spaces
  • Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions, building, office additions, does sheeting and rough carpentry on the buildings as well as final finishes
  • Perform hand and bench work in carpentry work shop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery
  • Repair and maintain hand tools, saws, and other carpentry tools 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A Red Seal and Certificate in Carpentry is an asset. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in building maintenance
  • Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
  • Good mechanical skills and understanding of building components and equipment
  • Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills
