Job Summary:
 Holmes Building Services is seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and skilled Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, installation, and finish work, across residential and commercial projects. Most work will take place in educational, healthcare, retail, industrial, and healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:


Construction & Carpentry:

●      Perform carpentry tasks including framing and installation of doors, windows, and storefronts.
 
 
●      Interpret blueprints, instructions and construction plans to meet project specifications.
 
 
●      Work with a variety of materials including wood, aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and FRP.
 
 
●      Apply techniques in controlled demolition, DFH installation, steel and wood framing, drywall, drywall finishing, painting, welding, glazing, and caulking.
 
 
●      Ensure high-quality workmanship on every project.
 
 

Safety & Compliance:

●      Adhere to all safety protocols and on-site regulations.
 
 
●      Ensure work complies with building codes and industry standards.
 
 

Collaboration & Communication:

●      Coordinate closely with team members and subcontractors.
 
 
●      Communicate daily progress, needs, and challenges to Supervisor and Production Manager.
 
 
●      Represent the company professionally with clients, customers, vendors, and contractors.
 
 

Tools & Equipment:

●      Must supply your own hand and small power tools.
 
 
●      Maintain a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel to job sites.
 
 

Qualifications:

●      High school diploma or equivalent.
 
 
●      Proven carpentry experience in residential and commercial construction.
 
 
●      Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions and construction plans.
 
 
●      Skilled in carpentry techniques, tools, and material handling.
 
●      Experience with commercial doors, frames and hardware is preferred.
 
 
●      Accurate measurement, cutting, and assembly skills.
 
 
●      Physically capable of lifting building materials and standing for extended periods.
 
 
●      Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
 
 
●      Must pass drug and alcohol testing, Pennsylvania State Police, FBI fingerprint background check, and Child Abuse Clearances.
●      Ability to pass a DOT Physical and able to drive <26,000 box truck is preferred.
 
 

Schedule & Compensation:

●      Full-time, Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; occasional weekends and night shift, some travel may be required.
 
 
●      Excellent compensation package commensurate with experience with paid holidays and vacation benefits after 90 days.
 
●      Regular prevailing wage projects and shift differentials for off shift work.
