Position Summary
The Carpenter Helper provides general support to carpenters engaged in rough and finish carpentry activities on commercial construction projects. This position assists in the execution of work on multifamily, hospitality, and retail developments while maintaining adherence to company standards for safety, quality, and productivity. The Carpenter Helper role is an entry-level position designed to develop foundational carpentry skills through on-the-job training.

Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist carpenters in performing rough carpentry (e.g., framing, blocking, backing) and finish carpentry (e.g., trim, doors, hardware, cabinetry installation)
  • Ability to use hand tools or power tools of the trade with on-the-job training/supervision
  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials under supervision
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials and tools at job sites
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including debris removal and general housekeeping
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA regulations
  • Operate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Support layout and installation activities as directed by supervisors
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress and job site needs
  • Ability to travel, valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials, or the ability to learn quickly
