Full-time - Day Shift

Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to be part of a team bringing this Skilled Nursing Facility into a new era. The facility cares for residents who benefit from post acute rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care. Job Responsibilities for Maintenance Assistant

  • Help ensure the facility remains in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for Life Safety Code Compliance.

  • Follow the department’s policies and procedures manuals.

  • Assist with preventative, unplanned maintenance, and repair activities in the facility, which includes painting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical work. 

  • Help ensure that services are performed by outside vendors are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders.

  • Help ensure the facility’s Fire Safety Program complies with the current Life Safety Code and Health Care Facilities Code(s). Including, but not limited to, fire and disaster drills, training on the facilities fire safety plan, safe use of oxygen, electrical safety, etc.

  • Help ensure facility’s compliance with multiple OSHA standards and the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.

  • Assist with maintaining facility grounds including, but not limited to, mowing, weed care, edging, removal of debris, trimming bushes/trees, snow removal, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications for Maintenance Assistant

  • Previous job experience preferred but not required.

  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work within deadlines.

  • Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs
