Apprenticeships typically combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction, allowing apprentices to develop practical skills such as measuring, cutting, and installing building materials. The goal is to gain enough experience and knowledge to become a journeyman carpenter. Apprenticeships usually last several years and are a critical step for those seeking a career in carpentry.
