Job description

The Customer Service Representative & Ride Operator at Nut Tree involves providing excellent customer service, handling ticket and merchandise sales, and ensuring the safe operation of the carousel and train rides. This role creates a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all visitors. This position operates with minimal supervision, requiring a self-motivated and responsible individual.
Responsibilities
  • Greet all customers in a friendly, professional manner, and provide basic information about the plaza and its attractions.
  • Process transactions for tickets and merchandise sales using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure accurate handling of cash and balancing of the till at the end of the day.
  • Restock merchandise and maintain organized displays.
  • Clean and organize the ticket booth including wiping countertops, organizing shelves and countertops, cleaning ticket booth windows, and disposing trash.
  • Operate the carousel and train rides in accordance with state (DOSH) regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure all customers meet height requirements and are safely secured before starting the ride.
  • Recite safety instructions and monitor the safety of riders throughout the ride.
  • Clean and disinfect ride surfaces including animals and seats.
  • Dust and polish carousel and train brass, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of Nut Tree Plaza.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and POS systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
  • Punctual, dependable and able to follow instructions and procedures and be responsive to management requests.
  • Ability to ask questions when necessary and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, sit or walk.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • May need to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, kneeling crouching or crawling.
  • Ability to speak, listen and see and use depth perception regularly.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
