Job description

Overview
The Unit Assistant provides clerical support in the Emergency Department. Facilitates communication with other departments, visitors, patients, medical staff and employees. Serves as a public relations liaison for the unit.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
Answers all incoming phone calls for the ED
Manages admits and discharges from the EPIC computer system
Completes data tracking for EKGs and Tele boxes
Liasion/collaborates between outside facilities, nursing staff, and physicians
Maintains office supplies throughout nurses stations
Completes and maintains misc. paperwork for ED staff
Schedules non emergent transport for patients
Effectively facilitates communication for the unit with all hospital and clinic departments. Answers the phone, informs nursing staff of needed tests, exams or significant problems with patients on the nursing unit. Serves as liaison between nursing units and physicians, patients, their families and friends.
Initiates daily Level 1 Trauma and Medical alert system testing.
Sends and recieves items through the tube system
Submits work orders and places broken euipment in appropriate locations.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $16.91per hour - $27.39per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
