Job description
The Adult Emergency Department delivers care across the full continuum of treatment — from emergency stabilization and critical care to rehabilitation, home health, and follow-up services. More than 80,000 patients are treated annually, with state-of-the-art care available for cardiac, trauma, pediatric, obstetric, and gynecologic emergencies. The hospital also serves as a statewide referral center and functions as a coordinating facility for the Richmond metropolitan area during disasters and large-scale emergencies.
The Emergency Department (ED) Paramedic functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary emergency medicine team at VCU Health, providing advanced in-hospital emergency care under the supervision of a licensed physician, medical director and manager.
