Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR/Open Heart position requiring BSN education and IL RN licensure.

Details
  • Work in the Open Heart/Cardiovascular OR unit of a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule: Mon-Fri 6:30AM-5PM, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
  • 20-week assignment length
  • Rotating weekend and holiday shifts required
  • May float to other Carle Health hospital locations including Methodist, Young Minds, Pekin, and Proctor
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • BSN required
  • Minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Knowledge of bedside lab testing and specimen collection procedures
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment with troubleshooting skills
Additional Information
  • Provide individualized nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for cardiovascular/open heart surgical patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care from admission to discharge
  • Deliver patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and comprehension level
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and professional accountability in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers limited to 1 year of continuous assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
