THE EASTERLY - BARTENDER
♦ NO LATE NIGHTS
♦ HOLIDAY CLOSURES [THANKSGIVING DAY amp; CHRISTMAS DAY]

THE ATMOSPHERE
The Easterly St. Thomas is a waterfront dining oasis offering innovative craft cocktails and wood-fired cuisine representative of the rustic Caribbean. The menu is ocean-to-table focused and utilizes locally grown produce and local flavors to complement the dishes. The Easterly offers one of the Virgin Island’s most robust beverage programs with unique hand-crafted cocktails, twists on Caribbean favorites, and an extensive list of craft beers amp; wine. Tucked away in an oasis of palm trees and rich greenery, the restaurant exudes a Bohemian-island vibe, and offers a social, vibrant and interactive dining experience.

THE IDEAL MATCH
The ideal candidate is a practiced problem solver, maintains a calm demeanor under pressure, persists in getting the job done, and enjoys working alongside a large team to improve performance and increase retention. Vibe check: We’re hiring bartenders who are equal parts drink experts and crowd-pleasers. Think fast, friendly, and focused—upholding our standards while keeping up with a high-volume rush. Our bartenders are representatives of the restaurant to guests. Bartenders are responsible for assembling and serving all beverages while guiding guests through the Easterly experience.

BALANCED HOSPITALITY
The Easterly brings a fresh, vibrant take on coastal Caribbean dining—where tropical, bohemian vibes meet elevated experiences. This concept is not just a restaurant – but a destination that blends music, sunshine, innovation, and top-tier hospitality into unforgettable moments. We’re laid-back but dialed-in. Professional but never stuffy. Every guest is welcomed like family—and we take that seriously.

  • Bring the energy. Deliver fast, friendly, and deeply thoughtful service that makes guests feel like regulars on day one. You own their dining experience.
  • Speak fluently on ingredients, sourcing, and preparation to confidently guide guest selections.
  • Nail the fundamentals. Uphold our service playbook to keep the quality high and the experience seamless.
  • Precision pouring. Every pour, shake, and garnish should be an exact specification for guaranteed consistency across the board.
  • Represent Ballast standards. Ensure every drink served is a benchmark for quality and presentation.
  • Pour responsibly and always maintain a safe environment.
  • Collaborate effortlessly with your colleagues. Support the floor team by ensuring quick and seamless drink delivery across all dining room areas.
  • Navigate the POS efficiently and accurately for swift order and payment processing.
  • Prioritize timing and accuracy. Get orders to the table fast, and do a quick vibe check to ensure everyone is loving it.
  • Check in with your guests early and often.
  • Keep your station dialed in - a clean bar is an efficient bar. Maintain a highly organized, clean, and polished bar throughout your shift.
  • Take ownership of health department regulations and always keep it pristine.
  • Deliver accurate billing and swift payment processing to close the guest experience on a high note.
  • Prioritize professional, respectful, and open communication with all team members.
  • Partner with management promptly to resolve any guest feedback or operational challenges.
  • Stay ahead of the rush. Prep your garnishes, ice, and syrups so you’re never caught off guard during service.
  • Show up to show out. Look sharp, follow the dress code, and bring your best self to every shift.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry.
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback.
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.
