Job description

We are seeking a Cargo Screener Supervisor at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The pay rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. The available shift is Tuesday-Saturday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

*Must have a valid PERC card and a 20 hour Security Certificate

Position Definition

Responsible for day-to-day air cargo screening functions as outlined by CAS, DHS and the Transportation Security Administration


Essential Functions

  • Ensure all employees follow all regulations/procedures
  • Communicate effectively with customer and customer representatives
  • Supervises and provides leadership to the assigned staff.
  • Knowledgeable of all the duties of all positions on site
  • Directly supervises the screeners
  • Serves as liaison between the Contractor and Company Site Representatives.
  • Manages the discipline process
  • Knowledgeable of Company and Site-specific Policies and Procedures
  • Makes sure that the screeners assigned are knowledgeable, trained and capable of carrying out duties professionally and efficiently.
  • Keeps all the employees informed of changes
  • Interact with TSA inspectors
  • Responsible for OJT training & recordkeeping of new hire screeners
  • Maintain records, reports, and filed of screening logs & maintenance logs
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance of ETD machine
  • Inspection of cargo equipment as outlined by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Identify prohibited objects in cargo by use of x-ray machines as outlined by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Preparing required reports, forms, and records as required by CAS and the Transportation Security Administration
  • Physically inspect the x-raying cargo, crates, and other containers as required by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Verifying necessary documentation for transportation of goods as directed by the customer, CAS, or the Transportation Security Administration
  • Prevention of unauthorized materials entering aircraft
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a valid PERC card and a 20 hour Security Certificate
  • Must be able to pass all required federal, airport, and employermandated security background checks, including a 7year verifiable criminal, employment, education, and reference review.
  • Must possess a valid State issued Driverโ€™s License or a valid State Issued I.D. card
  • Must be able to pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment/annual/random drug screenings
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work around the flexibility and changing schedules of the airline industry. This includes being available to work various shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening and overnight as required
