Job description

Are you an active senior in search of meaningful part time work? Do you possess the heart of a caregiver?

Seniors Helping Seniors® Tucson NW provides in-home services for seniors in need of extra care and companionship in order to keep seniors in the comfort of their own home longer. We're currently seeking the best In-Home Non-Medical Senior Caregivers in the areas of Marana, Catalina Foothills, Saddlebrooke, and Oro Valley.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and emotional support

  • Assist with daily living activities (e.g., dressing, feeding, showering/bathing, toileting/incontinence, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and memory care)

  • Assist with Light Housekeeping such as laundry, vacuuming, washing dishes, etc.

  • Assist with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair, lift device)

  • Incidental Transportation to doctor’s appointments, family, or their favorite places

Minimum Requirements

  • Driver's license and Reliable vehicle with valid Registration and Insurance

  • Cell phone with the ability to use various apps to complete caregiver tasks

  • Negative TB test result

  • CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to assist clients in performing these tasks effectively

  • Familiarity with dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities.

  • Pass a criminal background check before employment

  • Ability to work overnights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

  • Mature adults 50+ years of age

  • Volunteer and/or caregiving experience

  • Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to assist clients in performing these tasks effectively

  • Hoyer Lift experience

  • Willingness to learn new skills to best support the needs of the client

This position will be concentrated in and around Marana, Catalina Foothills, Saddlebrooke, and Oro Valley.
