Why does the job exist?
The position assists in the dally monitoring of residents, working closely with clinical, education, and
other milieu staff. Duties may include but are not limited to, developing life skills, recreation and
social activities and re-directing patient behavior. This position will require working days, evenings,
nights, weekends, and/or holidays and includes mandatory mandating.
How does it get done?
Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah
Adolescent Treatment Center. De-escalation techniques and coping mechanism are offered to residents and
life skills are taught to assist with success upon discharges.
Who are the customers?
Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history
of violence and aggression.
Ideal Candidate
Will have experience:
Working in a residential treatment facility;
Working in a therapeutic MILIEU; and
Working recover-oriented and /or trauma-informed-care environments
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. This position may work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying.
