Job description

About the Role:
Join Cardiovascular Associates of San Antonio as a Certified Medical Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care. Be part of a dedicated team that values compassion and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Responsible for preparing charts well in advance before appointment and have records 
  • Request Hospital Records/ Procedure reports/ Test results for follow up appointments
  • Cross Train in Front Desk Responsibilities and rotation schedule as needed 
  • Knowledge in management of Chronic Care Management and Transition Care Management 
  • Coordinate Surgical Scheduling for patient procedures in facilities
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and provide instructions prior to scheduled procedures 
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation in electronic health systems.

  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and health management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Willing to travel to rural clinic on a weekly basis. 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; CMA certification required.
  • Proven experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in Cardiology Specialty practice.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Compassionate demeanor and a patient-centered approach.
  • Current CPR certification is a plus.
  • Current Driver's license and valid liability insurance
  • Reliable transportation / flexible schedule to travel with clinic team. 
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
