Job description

CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Cardiology

Position Summary

A clinical competent registered professional nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for supervising, delegating and coordinating the patient care provided throughout the health system. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and health care team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing. Works directly under the supervision of the manager of Cardiology.

Responsibilities

  • Delegation of PCA, RT, and RN daily assignments
  • Assist with employee schedules, vacation, and PTO requests as needed
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring, along with formal counseling/discipline with affirmation of Cardiology Manager, Cardiology Director & AVP.
  • Investigates patient complaints & concerns and report findings.
  • Investigate occurrences and reports findings accordingly.
  • Will respond to emergency codes within respective Cardiac Service departments.
  • Collaborate on 30-60-90-day competencies and annual evaluations.
  • Ongoing communication with preceptors and preceptees regarding performance.
  • Understand/Implement Cardiology policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of technology and equipment & assist with selection of new technology or service line enhancements.
  • Takes initiative to promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • On-call for STEMI

Requirements

  • Current RN Licensure for Ohio
  • BLS Certification (Mandatory)
  • ACLS Certification (Mandatory within 12 months)
  • On call schedule with operation of laboratory 24 hours/day, 365 days/year
