Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic

Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift (Monday to Friday)

Location: Illinois - SSM Health Medical Group Mount Vernon

Compensation: $28.30 - $45.28 per hour

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will deliver direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and oversee patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
  • Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Evaluate and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • May accompany physicians during rounds in inpatient settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to inform nursing care, tailored to the specific age and clinical needs of patients.
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards as outlined in the practice model, employing the ANA Code of Ethics to address the evolving health needs of our patients.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required.
Physical Demands
  • Regular verbal communication to convey information.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling items weighing between 0-50 lbs.
  • Regular use of vision for tasks requiring near and far sight, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent auditory communication to receive instructions and detect alarms.
  • Occasional patient handling and mobility assistance.
  • Occasional driving and rare crawling or running.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
