Job description

The Appliance Sales and Service Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the appliance sales and service department by assisting customers with appliance purchases, maintaining inventory, ordering appliances and parts, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing repairs and rebuilds on residential and commercial laundry equipment. This position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring equipment is prepared, maintained, and repaired in a timely and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Service

·         Assist customers with appliance selection and purchases by providing product knowledge and recommendations.

·         Deliver outstanding customer service while building and maintaining positive customer relationships.

·         Respond to customer inquiries and provide troubleshooting assistance in person and over the phone.

·         Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.

Inventory and Purchasing

·         Order appliances, parts, and installation materials as needed to support business operations.

·         Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.

·         Stock and organize inventory, parts, and equipment in designated storage areas.

·         Maintain accurate inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.

Equipment Preparation and Repair

·         Prepare washers, dryers, and other appliances for installation and delivery.

·         Repair, diagnose, rebuild, and refurbish coin-operated washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment.

·         Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.

·         Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to customers and service technicians.

·         Assist field technicians with repairs performed in the shop and provide technical guidance when needed.

·         Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards and manufacturer specifications.

Facility Maintenance

·         Perform general facility maintenance including replacing light fixtures, painting, carpet cleaning, lawn maintenance, and other light building upkeep tasks.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the showroom, warehouse, and repair areas.

·         Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Operational Responsibilities

·         Support branch operations by assisting in various functions as needed.

·         Communicate effectively with management, customers, vendors, and fellow employees.

·         Demonstrate professionalism and represent the Company in a positive manner at all times.

·         Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or GED required.

·         Mechanical, appliance repair, electrical, or technical experience preferred.

·         Sales and customer service experience preferred.

·         Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams.

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team member.

·         Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred.

Physical Requirements

·         Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.

·         Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

·         Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

·         Ability to work in warehouse, shop, showroom, and outdoor environments.
