SUMMARY OF THE ROLEย 


The Maintenance Technician, Controls supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the LNG facility by assisting with troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control systems. This role is designed for recent graduates who have completed coursework or training in instrumentation, electrical, automation, or controls technology. The technician will work closely with experienced I&C technicians, engineers, and operations personnel to develop technical proficiency in LNG plant equipment and systems. Safety and quality are top priorities, supporting the reliable and sustainable operation of the asset. This position is located in Brownsville, TX.
Key Responsibilities
ย  ย Assist in the inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of control system components including transmitters, analyzers, valves, actuators, PLCs, DCS components, and related field instruments.ย 
ย  ย Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with facility procedures and OEM requirements.ย 
ย  ย Perform loop checks, functional testing, and documentation during system commissioning and maintenance tasks.
ย  ย Respond to equipment or system issues and support troubleshooting to restore safe and reliable operation.ย 
ย  ย Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, calibrations, equipment history, and spare parts usage.
ย  ย Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements associated with LNG operations.ย 
ย  ย Participate in safety meetings, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit-to-work processes.ย 
ย  ย Ensure work is completed in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and applicable LNG facility standards.
ย  ย Participate in structured on the job training to gain proficiency in LNG process equipment and control systems.ย 
ย  ย Work with senior technicians and engineers to learn advanced troubleshooting methods and site-specific technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
Recent graduate (within 0-2 years) from an accredited program in:
ย  ย Instrumentation Technology
ย  ย Electrical or Electronics Technology
ย  ย Automation/Control Systems
ย  ย Mechatronics or related technical field
ย  ย Fundamental understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles.
ย  ย Basic skills in reading P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics.
ย  ย Strong commitment to working safely in an industrial environment.
ย  ย Ability to work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and oncall assignments if required.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
ย  ย Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
ย  ย Must have a "hands-on" method of working.
ย  ย Ability to get Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
Preferred Requirements:
ย  ย Internship, co op, or practicum experience in industrial controls, oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or power generation environments.ย 
ย  ย Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).ย 
ย  ย Basic understanding of cryogenic or LNG processes.ย 
ย  ย Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo.
