Product Specialist

Location: Perrysburg, OH Department: Marketing (MTR70) Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

IMCO Carbide Tool Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Product Specialist to join our Marketing team. If you have a strong machining background, a passion for cutting tool technology, and enjoy translating technical expertise into customer value, this role offers an opportunity to influence product success, support sales growth, and help shape the future of IMCO's product portfolio.

About the Role

As a Product Specialist, you will serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, bridging product knowledge, customer needs, sales support, and market communication. You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to support product launches, develop sales enablement resources, and gather valuable market intelligence to improve product performance and market success. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist or cutting tool professional who enjoys sharing technical knowledge and helping customers solve manufacturing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of assigned product families, including specifications, applications, limitations, and competitive advantages.
  • Translate technical product features into clear customer value statements, sales messaging, and market positioning.
  • Create and maintain sales enablement materials including product guides, application references, selection tools, FAQs, and training resources.
  • Review catalog content, website product pages, promotional materials, and technical documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support new product launches through development of selling points, customer profiles, distributor materials, and competitive comparisons.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers, distributors, sales teams, competitors, and market trends.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and R&D to improve product communication and go-to-market effectiveness.
  • Deliver product training and presentations for customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Represent IMCO at trade shows, customer training events, and industry functions as needed.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Marketing Manager.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Milling Journeyman Machinist with CNC Experience.
  • Strong understanding of solid carbide end mills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience in cutting tool applications, product management, technical marketing, or customer-facing technical support.
Working Conditions

This role involves work in office, warehouse, production, R&D, and customer-facing environments. You may encounter machining oils, grinding dusts, and moderate noise levels. Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. and travel for trade shows and customer events may be required.
