Position Summary: Transports students to and from their assigned school (in or out of the division). Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Required):
  • Holds a High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Copy of current DMV driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to pass an annual physical examination
  • Have and maintain certifications in first aid and CPR (adult and child) preferred
  • Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and the general public

Responsibilities:
  • Operates vehicles in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Adheres to established schedules to safely pick up, transport, and discharge students.
  • Completes and documents pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle
  • Reports any operational defect to the Head Mechanic and Director of Transportation
  • Informs children of safety practices
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of assigned vehicles.
  • Maintains records of vehicles operations and submits required reports (mileage, routes, times); compiles and submits accident report information
  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.

Physical Requirements: Average amount of climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions required.
