As an F1 Safety Car Driver, your primary responsibility is to safely lead and control the pace of F1 cars during incidents, adverse weather, or track hazards. You work closely with race control and marshals, responding instantly to instructions and maintaining clear communication with your co-driver, who often serves as the FIA observer. The role requires staying alert, executing precise driving maneuvers, and making snap decisions while under intense scrutiny from teams and officials. You’ll also participate in pre-race briefings, track inspections, and may assist with test or demonstration laps as needed. This position is integral to ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the entire event.
