Job description

Job Description – Taxi Dispatcher


• Maintain an orderly flow of passengers and taxicabs and oversee the movement and expeditious loading of Taxis.

• Prevent soliciting of customers.

• Maintain an orderly taxi line ensuring that all drivers are at the taxi stand line remain within the immediate proximity to their vehicles.

• Advise customers of rules and regulations pertinent to the trip including the correct fare and meter rates to their destination.

• Cooperate with Port Authority Police, Airport and/or PABT Supervisors and taxi commission agents in connections with the performance of the dispatcher duties provided herein.

• Be familiar with, adhere to and enforce Taxi and Limousine commission rules and regulations.

• When required issue Taxi Dispatcher program violation form against taxi drivers for violation of Taxi and Limousine commission rules and regulations.

• Gather incident information, documents, prepare and review reports as needed. Submit tour reports as required.

• Standing and walking up to 8 hours a day.

• Preform any other related responsibilities or duties as required by the contractor by the facility manager or his/her designee.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have flexiable schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma, or a general equivalence diploma.
  • Customer Service Experience
  • 1 year of similar work experience.
