Profile

The Product Manager for Capsule Delivery Solutions delivers crucial and fundamental support in building and sustainably manage the capsule product line of the business unit. Key responsibilities are managing and optimizing the portfolio, driving product life cycle and product development, managing the innovation pipeline, monitoring product performance in the market, assisting with forecasting.

The PM will have to collaborate intensively with a wide variety of Business Unit functions and teams (commercial teams, value chain, quality, operations and R&D).

Effective and efficient coordination within these multi-disciplinary teams is an essential part of the job. Combining deep understanding of the Business Unit's (product/asset) capabilities, the competitive landscape and customer/ market demand for pharmaceutical products is essential for effective product management and to achieve the business targets.

Key performance indicators

-          Life-cycle management for assigned product line: manage the portfolio of products through all stage of Introduction, Growth, Maturity and Decline.

-          Successful introduction of at least 2 new products per year, and at least 10 projects with customers

-          Performance of product line by volume and margins: Core Hard Gelatin products/Specialty Polymer products/Specialty technologies and delivery forms 

-          Customer intimacy: support 30% of the field calls to drive product penetration

-          Successful cooperation with key internal stakeholders (Sales, BD, R&D, Quality, Operations, Value Chain) in a cross-functional virtual team

Reporting structure

Reports to Head of Marketing in the Capsule Delivery Solutions business unit.

Main responsibilities

         Drive revenue increase by managing the existing portfolio: positioning, features & benefits, pricing models

         Drive new product development based on market and customer needs, working with R&D, Value Chain, Quality and Operations, preparing return-on-investment analyses

         Product life cycle management: responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for the product portfolio, maintaining the assigned portfolio to assure, and initiating life-cycle projects by steering the R&D organization in the right direction

         Determine product pricing by evaluating competitive market conditions within industrial market segments; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders

         Assist with the forecasting process to provide a vital link between sales forecasts and production quantities

         Assess product satisfaction by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results

         Collaborate closely with Value Chain Management to prioritize production of most profitable/highest growth products in the portfolio

         Increase customer awareness of product line in accordance with the overall marketing strategy. Together with the Marketing Manager, prepare global marketing campaigns to drive sales for the product lines

         Product Sales & Support: Generate technical awareness in the appropriate departments and train field sales representative to sell and support products within assigned market segments

         Together with Competitive Intelligence Lead, analyze and interpret information on competitors' offers, value propositions, alliances and market relationships that are impacting the product line

Qualifications

Qualifications and experience

REQUIRED

         Master's degree in Economics, Marketing or Biochemistry, or equivalent. Minimum 10 years' experience in marketing and/or sales or relevant other experience within the pharmaceutical field

         Demonstrated success at building customer relationships and understanding customer needs

         Experience in product management: product knowledge, forecasting and budgeting, pricing and positioning

         Demonstrated skills in customer interactions

         Strong business acumen

         Program/project management experience

         Efficient team player and good networking capabilities

         Strong MS Office skills, in particular MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

         Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management

         Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in an ambiguous environment

         Excellent English

         International experience

         Ability to travel up to 30%

         Demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights and crisp presentations.

         Forecasting experience

         Product marketing experience in B2B industries

         Other European languages
