Job description

Who We Are:
Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. (NYSE: AESI) is a leading solutions provider to the energy industry. Atlas' portfolio of offerings includes oilfield logistics, distributed power systems, and the largest proppant supply network in the Permian Basin. With a focus on leveraging technology, automation, and remote operations to enhance efficiencies, Atlas is centered around a core mission of improving human beings' access to hydrocarbons that power our lives and, by doing so, maximizing value creation for our shareholders.
How You Will Make an Impact:
This position is critical to the information integrity and documentation governance of Atlas' capital program. The Document Control Manager provides centralized oversight and discipline for all engineering, procurement, construction, and turnover documentation across both Sand & Logistics and Power divisions.
By implementing structured document control processes, revision management standards, and workflow tracking systems, this role reduces execution risk, prevents rework caused by outdated information, and ensures projects are delivered with complete and accurate turnover documentation. A strong document control function enhances accountability, supports regulatory and audit readiness, and improves overall project efficiency throughout the capital lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and manage document control standards, procedures, and workflows for capital projects across Sand & Logistics and Power divisions.
  • Oversee lifecycle management of engineering drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, vendor data, and turnover documentation.
  • Maintain strict revision control to ensure project teams and contractors are working from current, approved documents.
  • Manage document numbering systems, naming conventions, and file structures to ensure traceability and consistency.
  • Track and monitor submittals, RFIs, and document approvals to prevent schedule impacts caused by documentation delays.
  • Coordinate document exchange between engineering, procurement, construction teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely transmittals and maintain complete audit trails of document distribution.
  • Oversee final project turnover packages, including as-builts, vendor manuals, commissioning documentation, and O&M manuals.
  • Support project closeout activities to ensure documentation completeness prior to operational handoff.
  • Implement and manage document management systems (DMS) such as SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Conduct periodic document audits to ensure compliance with internal capital governance standards.
  • Maintain document retention and archiving procedures in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve document workflows, reduce redundancy, and enhance process efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams and contractors on document control standards and expectations.
  • Support risk mitigation efforts by ensuring accurate documentation is available for claims management and dispute resolution.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in document control or project information management within industrial, energy, infrastructure, or heavy construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale CAPEX projects ($10MM-$100MM+).
  • Proven experience managing full lifecycle document control processes for engineering and construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of drawing management, revision control, submittal tracking, and turnover documentation requirements.
  • Experience implementing or administering document management systems (Aconex, SharePoint, Procore, OpenText, Documentum, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage high document volumes with precision and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience coordinating across Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Operations teams.
  • Understanding of capital governance processes and documentation compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to enforce documentation standards.
  • Proactive mindset with a process-driven and quality-focused approach.
  • Ability to operate independently while managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with frequent collaboration with engineering, construction, and project teams.
  • Periodic travel to active construction sites within Sand & Logistics and Power divisions as needed.
  • Exposure to industrial construction environments including noise, dust, heavy equipment activity, and varying weather conditions when visiting field locations.
  • Ability to walk active job sites and participate in coordination meetings when required.
