Job description

About Basic Capital
Basic Capital is a fintech company disrupting America's $1T retirement industry by building the mortgage for retirement, unlocking market ownership, and making wealth accessible to every American. Our mission is to create products, platforms, and a credit marketplace that power a fundamentally new retirement system.
Our founding team includes leaders from Goldman Sachs, Uber, Block, and Robinhood, and we're backed by top investors such as Lux, BoxGroup, SVAngel, Inspired Capital, and Henry Kravis. Based in SoHo, NYC, we're assembling a lean, high-performance team committed to reducing wealth inequality.

About the Role
Basic Capital is building the future of retirement investing and the capital markets engine behind it has to be invented from scratch.
This is not a "run the process" role. This is a market creation role.

You will
  • Build and maintain relationships with credit managers and institutional lenders
  • Develop deep relationships with:

    • banks / warehouse providers
    • capital partners
  • Lead fundraising initiatives alongside CEO including engaging investors
  • Monitor capital market performance and execute against insights observed
  • Identify market opportunities to scale credit offerings
  • Collaborate with teams to streamline capital market operations
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute credit facilities / securitizations / forward flows (as relevant)
  • Translate our product and underwriting into a story institutional capital can't ignore
  • Work cross-functionally with product, finance, legal, and ops to scale origination safely and quickly
  • Create a repeatable machine: not one-off deals but a brand new market

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in capital markets, with a background in banking, hedge funds, or fintech including embedded lending
  • Demonstrated ability in fundraising and managing relationships with lenders
  • Excellence in communication skills with high-stakes relationships
  • Excellence in financial modeling and skilled in using tools like PowerPoint and Excel
