Job Summary and Qualifications

The position functions as the Director over the capital project delivery team within FacilitiGroup. Responsible for leading the team that executes infrastructure replacement projects for acute care hospitals and new acquisitions

What you will do in this role:

  • Lead team that prioritizes capital needs and executes projects to update and replace building infrastructure
  • Provide team strategy that includes adapting to changing business environments
  • Secure resources to complete goals including capital dollars, operating budgets, personnel, and special funding
  • Communicate with team, other departments, leadership, facilities, vendors, etc. as appropriate
  • Seek new opportunities to reach goals effectively
Leading the FacilitiGroup Project Delivery team of 5-7 people in the prioritization, scoping, budgeting, and execution of capital infrastructure projects
  • Help to clarify roles and swim lanes
  • Motivate team members to continuously develop themselves professionally
  • Hold critical conversations related to job performance and expectations
  • Map out the strategic vision of the Project Delivery team; communicate the plan; and help the team execute

Improving processes

  • Help team identify risks and inefficiencies within current processes
  • Develop new processes as needed and remove old and outdated ones
  • Streamline existing processes to more effectively initiate and execute capital projects
  • Anticipate and remove obstacles to improvement
Providing technical guidance as needed in the execution of projects.
  • Review of assessment reports related to scopes, budgets, constructability, efficiency, and other considerations
  • Review of pay applications
  • Review of change orders
  • Review of other project documents as necessary 
Providing guidance on corporate regulations as they relate to capital projects
  • Communicate with CAMS, corporate accounting, tax, and internal audit to refine processes in the interest of corporate compliance
  • Interpret policies with engineers, vendors, team, and hospital personnel as necessary
Project execution and governance
  • Seeing that around $1B in active project budgets are successful executed
  • Conflict resolution
  • Continuous improvement of processes
  • Work directly with Internal Audit, Risk & Insurance, and Legal departments to meet corporate goals
  • Adjust capital spend and project starts as needed to meet corporate goals

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in design, construction, and/or operation of MEP systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership position
  • Professional Engineer or EIT preferred
  • Working knowledge of building infrastructure systems required including:
  • Chilled water and hot water plants
  • Steam systems
  • Medical gas systems
  • DX equipment
  • Electrical power systems (normal and emergency)
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems
  • Building envelope systems including roofs, walls, and windows
  • Building automation systems (controls)
  • Preferred knowledge (not required):
  • e-Builder construction management platform
  • Smartsheets
