Job description

Project Management Office (PMO) Leader
M&A Integration โ€” Valley Vital Care

Location: Centrally based, with ~25โ€“40% travel to acquired and target sites | Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt | Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a dotted line to the CFO for synergy and value-capture reporting

The Opportunity

Valley Vital Care is hiring a PMO leader to own the integration and program-delivery engine behind our acquisition strategy. You'll be the central integrator across Corporate Development, Finance, IT, HR, and Clinical โ€” accountable for integration timelines, synergy realization, governance and reporting, risk management, and the maturity of the integration playbook itself.

This is a hands-on, centrally based corporate role for an experienced program leader who thrives in a PE-backed, growth-stage environment. You'll own the realization of the deal thesis without owning the deal itself: functional leaders keep their domain standards, and you're the single named accountable person for whether an integration lands on plan.

What You'll Own
  • Integration Program Delivery โ€” Own the master integration plan for every acquisition: map workstreams, sequence activities, identify dependencies, and run the operating rhythm โ€” stand-ups, weekly steering reviews, and monthly value-capture reviews โ€” from signing through stabilization. Drive Day 1 readiness across every function to a single close date.
  • Synergy & Value Capture โ€” Translate the synergies underwritten in the deal model into a tracked, owned, time-bound capture plan, partnering with Finance to validate baselines. Maintain the single source of truth for synergy status across the portfolio and own the variance explanation when capture trails plan. Manage TSA exits on time, before they erode margin.
  • Governance, Reporting & Risk โ€” Own the integration governance model: decision rights, escalation paths, and the rule that no workstream proceeds off-plan without sign-off. Maintain the portfolio dashboard the executive team and PE sponsor use, and drive the RAID log to closure rather than letting risks age. Surprises in the steering review are a system failure you're accountable for preventing.
  • Cross-Functional Integration โ€” Coordinate Finance, IT, HR, Clinical, and the field at the workstream level to remove friction at the handoffs, where most integration value is lost. Drive 95%+ adherence to the standardized playbook, and serve as the single point of contact for acquired-company leadership on integration timeline and decisions.
  • People & Change โ€” Staff the workstreams, onboard integration project managers, and build bench strength for the next layer of integration talent. Partner with HR on change management for acquired employees: communications, retention of key talent, and cultural integration.
  • Playbook & Continuous Improvement โ€” Own the M&A integration playbook as a living asset, run a structured post-integration review after every deal, and apply structured improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent) to compress integration cycle time deal over deal.
Your First 90 Days

Within your first 90 days, you'll deliver a written assessment of the integration portfolio and current-state process to the COO โ€” covering the state of every active integration, the maturity of the current playbook, the top friction points in the engine, and a proposed 12-month plan to mature the PMO with quarterly milestones. It's an early opportunity to shape the function and put real findings in front of the executive team.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA) or PMP / PgMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive program or project management leadership, including at least 2 years owning multi-workstream programs end to end
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a PE-backed, growth-stage, or comparable high-tempo environment
  • Direct M&A integration, IMO, or post-merger integration experience strongly preferred
  • A track record of program improvement using structured methods (Lean, Six Sigma, PMI, or equivalent)
  • Comfort with program and financial data: portfolio dashboards, synergy models, basic financial statements

Preferred: Healthcare, multi-site, or specialty-pharmacy platform experience; experience integrating acquired companies; experience standing up an IMO or PMO from scratch.

Position Details
  • Direct Reports: Integration Project Managers, PMO Analysts, and โ€” at senior levels โ€” functional integration leads
  • Key Partnerships: Corporate Development (deal handoff), Finance (synergy validation), and IT and HR integration leads
  • Scope: The integration portfolio โ€” all active acquisitions and de novo activations โ€” plus the central program-governance function
  • Travel: ~25โ€“40% to acquired and target sites during diligence, Day 1, and the 100-day window; centrally based otherwise, with occasional travel to the PE sponsor and other corporate sites
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

Depending on experience and scope, this role may be leveled as Senior Manager, Director, or VP of the PMO
