About the Role 
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to lead the oversight and management of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across multiple business lines at Flow. In this role, you will be responsible for budget adherence, monthly reporting, compliance and documentation, and process enhancements.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, finance teams, and department heads to monitor and track CapEx projects spanning various business lines 
  • Develop, implement, and oversee control procedures and forms to effectively track and report capital expenditures
  • Maintain  comprehensive records of all CapEx projects, encompassing project specifics, budgets, change orders, and key financial metrics
  • Collaborate closely with  Property Management on a daily basis to manage changes, streamline process flow, and  develop a robust tracking system for monitoring related CapEx items
  • Understand and document processes within the CapEx workstream, including operational and financial controls
  • Monitor spending associated with each CapEx project to ensure alignment with approved budgets, identifying and addressing discrepancies promptly 
  • Regularly review/reconcile financial data against accounting records, report discrepancies to Controller, and take corrective action as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely capitalization of eligible expenditures in accordance with accounting standards, reflecting them appropriately in the general ledger
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on the financial status and progress of CapEx projects to senior management and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct variance analyses and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance and project efficiency
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Management 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with complex financial data
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP; IFRS a plus
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leaders
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, GSuite, Intacct a plus
