Job description

Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialist

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialist with board certification, board eligibility, or residency training to join our collaborative emergency and specialty team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a criticalist who enjoys ICU case management, ER receiving, teaching, and team-based medicine in a growing specialty hospital serving Cape Cod, southeastern Massachusetts, and the Islands.

About This Role

As a Veterinary Criticalist at CCVS, you will provide advanced care for hospitalized, emergent, and critically ill patients while working closely with emergency doctors, specialists, interns, residents, and experienced nursing staff.

This role includes ICU case management, emergency receiving, specialty collaboration, and participation in our teaching and training culture. The schedule includes days, swing shifts, ICU and ER receiving shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as needed.

  • Competitive salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, based on experience and schedule

  • Four-day-per-week schedule, including one administrative day

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Completion of all state licensing requirements
  • Massachusetts veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain
  • DEA licensure as well as MCSR, or eligibility to obtain
  • Residency-trained in Emergency and Critical Care
  • Board-certified or board-eligible by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, or equivalent
