Position Summary:

The Global Capacity Planner is an external facing role and will collaborate with Sales to understand customer demand signals and verify adequate component part capacity is in place for multi-branch shared external tooling and/or processes.  Collaborate with the Operations team to manage supply constraints and ensure that those constraints are resolved in a timely manner.  Work with the Category Management and Finance teams to identify and justify capacity investment opportunities. Continuously enhance the Capacity Planning process to ensure analysis quality and that supply constraints are mitigated effectively, and efficiently.

  1. Prepare models to plan tooling/process capacity of critical, multi-branch suppliers effectively.  Analyze short and medium-term data from Sales, Operations, and Suppliers to monitor supply/customer demand balance.
  2. Develop recommendations to manage capacity/customer demand gaps.  Align with the Business, Sales, & Procurement teams.
  3. Identify continuous Supply/Demand gaps which represent an opportunity to increase capacity.  Work with Category Management to develop cost-effective solution.  Present recommendation(s) to Purchasing, Finance and Business Leadership.
  4. Design and maintain all performance capacity reports and statistics for management.

Metrics will be defined by the VP Purchasing based on business priorities and needs.  

Key Responsibilities:

-Monitor multi-branch external supplier capacity to ensure adequate supply to meet customer demand. 

-Prepare recommendations for short-term and medium-term capacity adjustments.  Secure alignment with critical stake holders.

-Develop process to update and maintain effective capacity limits in supply planning applications (Blue Yonder)

-Represent Procurement as the point of contact highlight critical supply chain decisions tied to volume requirements

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Engineering.

Experience Needed:

-Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes. 

-Business acumen and problem-solving skills. 

-Strong data analysis and reporting skills. 

-Experience with collaboration with international teams including Asia and Europe. 

-Familiar with enterprise resource planning. 

-Collaboration with other team members and departments.
