Job description

TCI is hiring a Carrier Procurement Representative on our Brokerage team!
The Carrier Procurement Rep will report directly to the Director of Carrier Procurement. This role requires great communication skills, energetic personality, and a strong work ethic. We are looking for someone that possesses a self-starter mentality who can provide ownership and accountability while working through complex situations.
Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Secure brokered trucks to assigned shipments needed to provide an excellent customer service experience.
  • Manage the relationship between the carrier and the company.
  • Build strong relationships with carriers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met.
  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and ability and can apply the competency in new or complex situations.
  • Leverage organizational skills to manage multiple carriers and shipments.

Additional Requirements
  • Transportation experience brokering freight is preferred.
  • McLeod software experience is a plus.
  • Inside sales or account management experience within the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and self-driven.
  • Confident decision-making skills and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook is preferred.
  • College degree is a plus.

Compensation:
  • Total compensation: $70k to $80k ($55K Base plus incentive)
  • Monthly incentives based on a per-shipment targets
